mining for gemstones in most areas is ethically and environmentally corrupt. mining conditions are dangerous, wages are near to nothing, proper equipment is scarce, forests are torn down, land is polluted and people are killed and tortured. there is a history to everything you touch and you may not always like it’s story. so, i encourage you to ask more questions before you make purchases.
because of this awareness, i travel to responsible gemstone mines and sift through the rubble myself. i find gemstones like the ones pictured here (kunzite, aquamarine, quartz). i know the land is taken care of and the miners are treated fairly.
