the internal work: to bend and stretch, expand and settle in, only to return to the catalyst which opened the door to this expansion. to return to this place burned like a brush fire. sweeping the insides then igniting the clean floor with the sediment of past lovers and friends. the old journal entries engulfed in flames. yet, i was home. home in the same body with a clearer view and deeper understanding. i stood there, staring at this fire i created yet was unaware. and so, i let it burn down. embers dripping. i walked through the remains, my skirt behind me etching flowers in the ash. let it be soil to the new blooms. thank you.
